About the Jefferson Madison Center
Bob Ritter The Jefferson Madison Center for Religious Liberty ("JM Center") is a nonprofit educational organization founded by Bob Ritter to promote and defend Religious Liberty in the United States.

The JM Center relies heavily on the views of two of our most prominent Founding Fathers, Thomas Jefferson, our 3rd president and the author of the Declaration of Independence, and James Madison, our 4th president, author of the Consitution and sponsor of the Bill of Rights (based on George Mason's Virginia Declaration of Rights).

The primary activities of the JM Center are:

  • Maintaining a website with the latest news affecting religious liberty, including federal legislation and cases before the Supreme Court.
  • Conducting research on our issues and publish reports on them.
  • Providing a condensed Law of Religious Liberty. (Planned)
  • Reaching out to journalists and opinion editorial writers to keep these issues on the front pages and in the headlines.
  • Hosting or participating with nationally recognized nonprofit organizations in debates on timely religious liberty issues. (Planned)
  • Working with like-minded organizations to safeguard our religious liberties, both in law and in practice.
  • Representing parties who have had their religious liberties violated or file briefs as a "friend of the court" in cases on appeal. (Planned)
Thru these endeavors, the JM Center will keep the conversation about our religious liberties at the forefront of the national dialogue.
